Sweden rewards travellers in every season. Winter brings the Northern Lights over Abisko and nights in the famous Icehotel in Swedish Lapland, while summer offers midnight sun, island-hopping in the Stockholm archipelago and walks through the old lanes of Gamla Stan. Indian nationals visiting Sweden for tourism, business or family need a Schengen visa, the short-stay (Type C) permit valid for up to 90 days within 180 days. Sweden uses VFS Global to receive applications in India, including fingerprints and a digital photo. Apply to Sweden if it is your main destination, or your first Schengen country when your nights are evenly split.
With Audvik, you get a careful review of your papers, help filling the form, a VFS appointment and a clear itinerary. For family visits we help your host prepare an invitation letter. We also arrange winter-ready tours, insurance, flights and hotels.

Important things to know
Aurora season in Swedish Lapland runs roughly from September to March; winter trips are popular, so apply early.
Sweden is largely cashless, so carry an international debit or credit card rather than relying on cash.
Long-stay work and study permits are applied for online with the Swedish Migration Agency and follow a separate process.
The Swedish embassy alone decides on your visa; we focus on making sure your file is complete and accurate.

Sweden visa FAQs
Do I need a visa to travel to Sweden from India?
Yes. Indian citizens need a Schengen visitor visa for short trips to Sweden. It allows stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period and covers other Schengen countries too, such as Norway, Finland and Denmark, provided Sweden is your main destination.
When is the best time to apply for a Sweden visa?
Apply at least four to six weeks before travel. Processing usually takes around 15 calendar days after biometrics, but it can take longer in busy seasons. You can apply up to six months ahead, which is useful if you are planning a Northern Lights trip over Christmas or New Year.
Can I visit Norway and Finland on a Sweden Schengen visa?
Yes, all three are part of the Schengen Area. Many Nordic itineraries combine them. Just make sure you apply to the country where you will spend the most nights. If Norway or Finland takes up more of your trip, apply to that country instead.
What if my Sweden visa is refused?
Refusals are at the embassy's discretion, and the letter will list the reason. You can appeal within the stated time limit or submit a fresh application addressing the concern, such as stronger financial proof or clearer travel plans. Audvik can review the refusal and help you prepare a new file.
Does Audvik offer Sweden tour packages as well as visas?
Yes. Audvik can plan Lapland Northern Lights tours, Stockholm city breaks and multi-country Scandinavian holidays, along with flights, hotels and insurance. Booking everything together helps keep your visa documents consistent with your actual travel plans.
