Indian passport holders need a UK Standard Visitor visa for tourism, visiting family, short business trips and many other short visits. Indians are not currently eligible for the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation, so a full visa application is required. You apply online, pay the fee, book an appointment at the visa application centre run by VFS Global for fingerprints and a photograph, and then submit your documents. A standard visa is usually valid for 6 months, and long-term visitor visas valid for 2, 5 or 10 years are also available; each visit is normally limited to 6 months.
Audvik helps you present a clear, well-organised application. We review your travel purpose, income and ties to India, complete the online form, book your biometrics appointment and prepare a document checklist tailored to your profile, including sponsorship papers where family is hosting you. We track your application until a decision is made. Our team can also arrange flights, UK hotels, travel insurance and sightseeing packages.

United Kingdom visa FAQs
Do Indians need a visa for the UK?
Yes. Indian citizens need a UK Standard Visitor visa for tourism, family visits and short business trips. Indians are not currently eligible for the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation. The application is made online, followed by biometrics at a VFS Global visa application centre in India.
How long does a UK visitor visa take from India?
A standard UK visitor visa typically takes around 3 weeks from the biometrics appointment, though this can be longer during summer and festival seasons. Priority and super priority services may be available at extra cost. We advise applying at least six to eight weeks before your trip.
How much bank balance is needed for a UK visitor visa?
The UK does not publish a fixed minimum balance. Officers look at whether your funds are sufficient for the trip and consistent with your income, so a steady six-month history matters more than a large sudden deposit. If a sponsor is paying, include their financial documents too.
Can I extend my UK visitor visa?
Extending a visitor visa from inside the UK is only possible in limited circumstances, such as medical treatment, and total stay usually cannot exceed 6 months. Plan your trip within the permitted stay, or apply for a long-term visitor visa if you travel to the UK often.
Can Audvik help if my UK visa was refused before?
Yes. Audvik reviews your refusal letter, identifies the concerns raised by the officer and helps you prepare a stronger fresh application with clearer documents. We cannot guarantee approval, as decisions rest with UK Visas and Immigration, but a well-prepared file addresses previous gaps.
