Waltzes in Vienna, Mozart's Salzburg and lakeside Hallstatt: we help Indian travellers apply for Austria's Schengen visa with confidence.
Austria packs a lot into a small country: imperial palaces in Vienna, Mozart's birthplace in Salzburg, postcard-perfect Hallstatt, the Swarovski Crystal Worlds near Innsbruck and ski slopes across the Tyrol. Indian nationals visit on a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa, which allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The Austrian mission in India uses VFS Global to receive applications and capture biometrics. Many travellers combine Austria with Switzerland or Germany; in that case, apply to whichever country hosts the most nights, or the first one you enter if nights are equal.
Audvik starts by counting those nights with you so you apply to the correct embassy. We then check your papers, fill in the application form, book the VFS appointment, arrange Schengen insurance of at least EUR 30,000 (with winter-sports cover if you plan to ski) and follow up until your passport is ready. Rail passes, hotels and guided tours can be added to the same plan.

Yes. Indian citizens need a Schengen short-stay visa for tourism, business or family trips to Austria. It is valid for up to 90 days in any 180-day period and also covers travel to other Schengen countries during the same trip, as long as Austria is your main destination.
Apply to the country where you will spend the most nights. If you spend four nights in Austria and three in Switzerland, apply to Austria. If the nights are exactly equal, apply to the country you enter first. Audvik checks this before preparing your file.
Austrian visa decisions are usually made within about 15 calendar days of the biometrics appointment, although it can take up to 45 days in some cases. For peak summer or ski season travel, we suggest applying six to eight weeks before your departure date.
The visa rule only requires EUR 30,000 medical cover valid across Schengen. However, many standard policies exclude skiing, snowboarding and mountain rescue. If these are part of your trip, choose a policy that clearly includes winter sports; Audvik can suggest suitable options.
Yes. Audvik can plan your full Austria trip, including flights, hotels, rail connections, Sound of Music tours and day trips to Hallstatt, alongside your visa application. Please remember that the Austrian mission makes the final visa decision, so we advise against non-refundable bookings until your visa is issued.

The decision to grant a visa rests solely with the embassy or immigration authority.
